Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], Nov 15 (ANI): Uttarakhand Governor Baby Rani Maurya has issued an order to be henceforth be addressed as "Honourable Governor".

In the order dated November 12, Maurya has requested to be addressed as the "Honourable Governor" of Uttarakhand or its Hindi equivalent rather than "His Excellency The Governor".

Maurya was sworn in as the seventh Governor of Uttarakhand on August 26 this year, and succeeds Krishan Kant Paul, who served as Governor of Uttarakhand from January 2015 to 25 August 2018.

She is the second woman to become the Governor of Uttarakhand, after Margaret Alva who served the position from August 2009 to May 2012.

Maurya has previously served as the Mayor of Uttar Pradesh's Agra. (ANI)
