Ghaziabad, May 20 (PTI) A woman lawyer has filed a complaint with the Ghaziabad police alleging that a station house officer manhandled and briefly detained her and her associate at a police station.
Sangeeta Sharma, in her complaint to Senior Superintendent of Police Vaibhav Krishna, said SHO Vinod Pandey abused and manhandled her and her associate Vinod Tyagi when they had gone to Sihanigate police station on Thursday night to know the status of a report sent to them by a court.
Sangeeta Sharma said Pandey and other police officials badmouthed and detained them for a few hours.
Anil Sharma, the president of the district bar association, said he was trying to sort out the issue. Former association president Rakesh Tyagi Kakda demanded Pandey's suspension.
SSP Krishna said the matter is under investigation and appropriate action would be taken against the police official.
