Honda 2Wheelers India will be officially launching the sixth generation of Activa scooter in the Indian market. The two-wheeler manufacturer will be announcing the prices for the 2020 Activa 6G BS6 version at an event in Mumbai. The new scooter from Honda will meet the forthcoming Bharat Stage VI (BS6) emission norms that will come into effect from April 1, 2020. The new Activa 6G is expected to sport minor cosmetic updates and feature upgrades. It will be the third BS6 product from Honda 2Wheeler India after Activa 125 Fi and the SP 125. The launch event of Honda Activa 6G is scheduled to commence at 10:30 am IST onwards. The company will also be broadcasting the event LIVE straight from the venue via its official YouTube channel and social media accounts.
As compared to the predecessor, the new Honda Activa 6G will sport couple of updates. However, the most important change will be on the mechanical front. The scooter will get an all-new BS6 complaint fuel injected 109.51cc engine. The petrol unit will be tuned to make 7.6 bhp of maximum power. The outgoing model features a carburettor, producing 8bhp of maximum power. Reportedly, the engine on Activa 6G BS6 will be more refined and fuel-efficient than the outgoing model.
As far as the features are concerned, the new Honda Activa BS6 will get an updated front featuring LED lights, fully-digital instrument panel, side-stand engine inhibitor, external fuel filling cap, remote hatch opening and much more.
Coming to the prices, the outgoing model is priced from Rs 55,935 for the standard variant whereas the Deluxe SE model retails at Rs 58,199. We speculate that the Activa 6G version would be atleast Rs 6,000 premium to the previous version. Once launched, the new Activa 6G BS6 will take on TVS Jupiter BS6 and Hero Maestro Edge.
