Mercedes-Benz has confirmed the upcoming launch of the new AMG E 53 HYBRID 4MATIC+ in India, scheduled for 23 July 2026. This performance sedan signifies a notable transition for the model as it returns to the Indian market featuring an advanced plug-in hybrid powertrain that blends traditional internal combustion power with modern electric capability.

As per a report by Autocar India, the E 53 utilises a 3.0-litre six-cylinder petrol engine paired with an integrated electric motor. The vehicle is equipped with a 21.2kWh usable battery, which provides an electric-only range of over 100km. The electric motor allows for zero-emission driving at speeds of up to 140kph, and the system supports 11kW AC charging. Additionally, international markets offer an optional 60kW DC charger capable of a 10-80 percent charge in approximately 20 minutes.
