Toyota has officially confirmed the forthcoming arrival of the ninth-generation Hilux in India, introducing a significant design overhaul and updated technological features for the iconic pickup truck. As per a report by Cardekho, the ninth-generation iteration will feature a revised exterior, including sleek LED headlights, a bold front grille with prominent 'TOYOTA' lettering, and a muscular bumper design. Inside, the cabin has received a comprehensive update, now featuring an all-black theme with leatherette upholstery. The dashboard is equipped with dual 12.3-inch screens, serving as a digital driver's display and a central touchscreen infotainment system.

The feature set is extensive, including dual-zone climate control, ventilated front seats, a nine-speaker JBL sound system, and connected car technology. For safety, the new Hilux is fitted with seven airbags, an electronic parking brake, and a Level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) suite.

For the Indian market, the ninth-gen Hilux will continue to utilise the 2.8-litre diesel engine, now enhanced with a 48V mild-hybrid system. This powertrain produces 204 PS and 500 Nm of torque, available with either a six-speed manual or a six-speed torque converter automatic transmission.

Internationally, Toyota is also introducing an all-electric derivative equipped with a 59.2 kWh battery, offering an estimated range of 240 km.
