Two-wheeler major Hero MotoCorp is preparing to launch the 2026 iteration of its popular street-naked motorcycle, the Hero Xtreme 160R 4V, in the Indian market on October 16. Positioned strategically between the Xtreme 125R and Xtreme 250R in the manufacturer's lineup, the updated motorcycle will introduce comprehensive visual revisions and technological enhancements while retaining its proven petrol engine platform.

The upcoming release aims to strengthen Hero's presence in the competitive 160cc sports bike segment against established rivals such as the Bajaj Pulsar N160 4V and the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V. As per a report by BikeAdvice, the 2026 Xtreme 160R 4V is expected to command a slight price premium over the outgoing model, which currently retails between INR 1.35 lakh and INR 1.38 lakh (ex-showroom). VLF Strada Price in India, Specifications and Features Revealed.

Cosmetic Updates and Ergonomic Refinements

The 2026 Hero Xtreme 160R 4V features a redesigned silhouette, a modified fuel tank, and restyled front headlamp and rear tail-lamp clusters. The motorcycle also gains a tweaked rider triangle, a refreshed seat design, and a functional rear tyre hugger aimed at improving daily riding ergonomics and weather protection.

Hero MotoCorp is expected to retain its existing palette of five color choices—Kevlar Brown, Stealth Black, Neon Shooting Star, Matt Shadow Grey, and Matt Slate Black—while introducing new dual-tone paint options and updated graphic decals across the body panels.

Advanced Digital Instrument Cluster and Features

In terms of technology, the motorcycle is tipped to upgrade from its current LCD unit to a multi-colored TFT display offering integrated Google Maps mirroring. This enhancement brings the bike in line with segment competitors that already offer full-color digital instrumentation.

Additional feature updates are expected to include a lap timer, document storage capabilities, auto-brightness adjustment, and a potential quickshifter. Core safety and electronic rider aids, including ride modes, dual-channel ABS, cruise control, and an electronic throttle body, will carry over to the new model.

Mechanical Engine Specifications and Performance

Underneath the cosmetic and technological updates, the 2026 Xtreme 160R 4V retains its existing 163.2cc single-cylinder, air- and oil-cooled, four-valve petrol engine. The powerplant continues to output a maximum power of 16.7 bhp at 8,500 rpm alongside 14.6 Nm of peak torque at 6,500 rpm. 2026 TVS Radeon Price in India, Specifications and Features Revealed.
