Blue Dart Partners With India Post To Expand Delivery Reach to Tier III and Tier IV Towns
Blue Dart Express has signed an MoU with India Post to extend its delivery network to smaller towns and remote locations, with shipments to new areas to be carried through India Post's network.
Blue Dart Express has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with India Post to expand its delivery network across smaller towns and remote locations in India. Under the partnership, Blue Dart's express logistics capabilities will be combined with India Post's extensive postal network to reach more Tier III and Tier IV towns, with shipments to the additional locations delivered through India Post's network and complementing Blue Dart's existing infrastructure. The companies said the expanded coverage will be rolled out in phases.
Why The Partnership Matters
The tie-up is aimed at improving delivery access for businesses that want to serve customers in smaller towns and remote communities. Blue Dart Chief Commercial Officer Dipanjan Banerjee said the collaboration would help small and medium enterprises (SMEs), e-commerce sellers and larger businesses access markets beyond established delivery networks. What Blue Dart And Department Of Posts Said
Balfour Manuel, Managing Director of Blue Dart, said the partnership would help businesses reach more customers in smaller towns and remote areas as the economy grows and customer expectations change.
Harpreet Singh, Member (Operations) at the Department of Posts, said the department was committed to the partnership and would provide all possible support to strengthen the collaboration. He also expressed hope that the relationship between the two organisations would expand over time. Shares of Blue Dart Express closed 0.066 per cent higher at INR 4,560 on the NSE on October 9.
