Veteran comedian Sunil Pal has taken a fresh, sarcastic swipe at YouTuber and stand-up comedian Samay Raina following the announcement of the second season of his popular talent hunt show, India's Got Latent. When asked for his thoughts on Raina's decision to return with India's Got Latent Season 2, Pal responded with heavy irony, claiming the platform was "too big" for him.  "Mai Samay ko kehna chahunga ki apne show ko bada banaye aur har episode mein apne maa aur pitaji ko us show mein bithaye. (I am happy. I want him to invite his parents to sit on that show)," Pal stated. "I won't go because it's such a big show and it's not worthy of me. I am a very small artist."  Pal then drew a comparison to major television comedy formats, challenging Raina to perform his adult-oriented style of humour in front of his family.

"When Samay Raina makes this show, he should make his own mother and father sit there as judges, like Archana Puran Singh and Navjot Singh Sidhu on The Kapil Sharma Show. He should seat his parents there and perform the show in front of them. Only then will I believe there is real courage in Samay."

Origins of the Conflict

The friction between the veteran comic and the internet creator dates back to last year, when India's Got Latent became embroiled in a major controversy. The show faced heavy public backlash and legal scrutiny after guest panellist and podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia made explicit remarks during an episode. The incident led to multiple FIRs being filed against those associated with the production, prompting Raina to temporarily delete the episodes from YouTube.

During the height of the controversy, Pal was highly vocal in his criticism, publicly labelling Raina and Allahbadia as "terrorists" of content who were negatively influencing the youth. In response, Raina addressed the veteran's persistent criticism during a podcast appearance, dismissing Pal as a "frustrated man" who lacked "mental peace."
