Bollywood filmmakers have been lately bitten by a biopic bug. The makers in the tinsel town are kind of hooked to the genre like never before giving us back to back biopics. Life chronicles of the personalities gave us films like Sanju, Neerja, Soorma, Haseena Parkar, MS Dhoni, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Gold and many more. However, how much of these can be actually called as a true biopic? The Why Cheat India actor Emraan Hashmi has an honest answer to that. Emraan Hashmi’s Cheat India Gets Renamed by Censor Board and Like Us, Twitterati Can’t Help but Ask ‘Why?’.

Speaking at length at India Today Mind Rocks Bhubaneswar 2019, the 39-year-old actor said, "In biopics what they do is, first they try to make the character interesting and for that, they make the character endearing, they won’t show the dark qualities of that person, everything has to be likable about him or her, and popular."

He further elaborated the filmy way of preparing a biopic saying, "You don’t actually see the real person in a biopic; it is just a series of Bollywood events taking place in the person’s life which are written and curated to make it interesting." It is amusing how the Emraan, who was also seen in a biopic named Azhar, commented on the topic with utter honesty. After all, fans can totally see the glorification of incidents or characters in some way or the other.

On the work front, Emraan will be next seen in Why Cheat India directed by Soumik Sen. He will be seen as a person who deals with the students by getting indulged into the fraudulent ways of the education system. The flick is set to hit the screens on January 18.
