After entering the Rs 100 crore club, Gully Boy has now become Alia Bhatt's highest grossing film as it surpassed the lifetime collection of Raazi on day 14. Directed by Zoya Akhtar and co-starring Ranveer Singh in the lead, the film has maintained a good run at the box office even on weekdays. Apart from doing well in India, the film has also been appreciated in overseas territories. So much so, that Gully Boy has already crossed the Rs 200 crore at the worldwide box office. Well, if the rap drama continues to fare decently then it won't be long before it reaches the Rs 150 crore mark at the domestic box office. Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to microblogging site Twitter a while back and revealed the updated figures of the film. He tweeted, "#GullyBoy is maintaining consistency on weekdays... Emerges Alia Bhatt’s highest grosser, surpassing *lifetime biz* of #Raazi... [Week 2] Fri 3.90 cr, Sat 7.05 cr, Sun 7.10 cr, Mon 2.45 cr, Tue 2.30 cr, Wed 2.10 cr. Total: ₹ 125.20 cr. India biz."
Gully Boy, which released on February 14, witnessed a terrific start at the box office as it opened to rave reviews from all quarters. The film also caught the attention of Hollywood actor and rapper Will Smith. He even congratulated Ranveer on Instagram for doing a hip hop film. With such good response, the film comfortably crossed the Rs 100 crore mark at the Indian box office. And since then has been steady with its collection. However, things will change at the box office from tomorrow onwards as two new films are arriving in theatres - Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon starrer Luka Chuppi and Sushant Singh Rajput's dacoit drama Sonchiriya. While Gully Boy had a smooth run at the ticket windows so far, it will now feel the heat at the box office.
