Karan Johar's highly anticipated production venture Kalank has completed a week in theatres and so far it has performed below average at the ticket windows. Despite registering the biggest opening of 2019, the period film has failed to surpass the Rs 100 crore mark in week 1 which is obviously not good news for the team. Directed by Abhishek Varman, Kalank which stars Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt in the lead, released last Wednesday on April 17. Though the film has been lauded for its grandeur and set design, its storyline hasn't managed to impress the audience big time. The film is currently faring below average at the box office and things would get worse once Hollywood biggie Avengers: Endgame arrives in cinema halls. Kalank Box Office Collection Day 6: Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt's Magnum Opus Witnesses a Sharp Drop, Fails to Pass the Crucial Monday Test

According to various trade portals, Kalank raked in Rs 3.50 crore on Tuesday, bringing its total seven-day collection to around Rs 73.50 crore. Considering its a multi-starrer big budget film, the figures are quite disappointing till now.

Further, Boxofficeindia.com also stated, "There is only a 10% drop but the collections are low and it will suffer when Endgame releases on Friday. The film had an extended five day weekend which has actually helped the film get this far, if it was a normal weekend then the collections would be far lower as the weekday collections would probably have come down to these levels regardless of a normal weekend or extended weekend." Kalank Box Office Collection Day 5: Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt's Film Fares Below Average in the Extended Opening Weekend, Rakes in Rs 66.03 Crore

With Hollywood superhero film Avengers: Endgame releasing on April 26, Kalank only has two more days to rake in as much money as possible without facing any stiff competition. But once Endgame arrives, things will heat up at the box office for sure and it will definitely affect the collections of Varun and Alia's film.
