Karan Johar Calls ‘Tu Yaa Main’ a ‘Traumatising’ Thriller

In his post, Johar wrote, “No cardio needed! You will physically jump out of your seats right through the second half of this traumatising (in the best way possible) survival croc-edge-of-the-seater! Swimming pools will never be the same for me again.... NEVER!” He added, “I am still stressed, and the film got over 30 minutes ago! Karan Johar Praises Shanaya Kapoor

Johar praised director Bejoy Nambiar for maintaining tension throughout the film. “Kudos to @bejoynambiar for keeping the tension alive with solid craft and technical excellence,” he wrote. He also commended Shanaya Kapoor’s performance, saying, “So proud of your choices and for your assured, hugely convincing performance.” About Adarsh Gourav, Johar wrote, “You are JUST BRILLIANT… I felt every inch of your FEAR!!!” He congratulated producers Aanand L Rai and Vinod Bhanushali and described the film as “A MUST-WATCH IN THE CINEMAS!!!”

Box Office Performance

Despite Johar’s enthusiastic endorsement, Tu Yaa Main opened to a modest response at the box office. According to Sacnilk, the film earned INR 57 lakh nett on its first day in India. The survival thriller had 1,239 shows nationwide and recorded an average occupancy of 6 percent on its opening day. While the figures remained under INR 1 crore, the film performed slightly better than the previous theatrical releases of its lead actors. About ‘Tu Yaa Main’

Directed by Bejoy Nambiar, Tu Yaa Main revolves around two social media influencers Avani (Shanaya Kapoor), also known as Miss Vanity and Maruti (Adarsh Gourav) aka Aala Flowpara. Their romantic getaway turns into a fight for survival when they find themselves trapped in a swimming pool with a crocodile. The film is currently running in theatres across India.
