Those who have seen the trailer of director Omung Kumar's PM Narendra Modi biopic already know what this outing could possibly offer. But surprisingly, and matter of factly, this endeavour has many things working in its favour that save this otherwise predictable tale from being a boring, larger than life portrayal of India's (as the book says) paradoxical prime minister. Banking heavily on honesty and sincerity on the part of the actors, especially Vivek Oberoi,  the film's pace is a genuine value addition that makes the narration interesting and even engaging in parts.

It would be only silly to get the accurate documentation, portrayal or for that matter, interpretation of the man who is also regarded as nothing short of a phenomenon of sorts for reasons available in public domain. So while getting down to reviewing PM Narendra Modi biopic, we decided to stay away from the politics and politicising the key elements the movie revolves around, and rather stay the course in terms of judging the cinematic parameters. Vivek Oberoi Gets Security From Mumbai Police Ahead Of 'PM Narendra Modi' Biopic Release!

And truth be told, right at the onset, this is not a bad cinema. It is loud, absolutely chest-thumping in its texture as well as in its treatment, but there's never a dull moment to witness in this close to 160 minutes long smack-in-your -face 'loud' affair.

Watch Vivek Oberoi Answering Questions on PM Narendra Modi Biopic:

So here are the major factors that are part hilarious, part apt, totally over-the-top peppered throughout and at times even interesting to pack all in that makes PM Narendra Modi a breezy watch sans a dull moment. Focus on these ones alone and chances are that you will relish the film.

1.  Vivek Oberoi gets the body language of Modi totally spot on. His tall frame notwithstanding or may not match with India's arguably most glorified...err 'godified' Prime Minister ever, Oberoi gets his gestures right. We wish if he could bring in that peculiar and unmissable nasal tone to play to the gallery. Alas, he doesn't! His stretches his eyebrow to indicate shrewd and well calculated political moves that are on the possibility map. He even exaggerates the diction and employs the lingo that makes him Modi!! With his efforts, Oberoi is damn convincing. In fact, he is Modi, and how convincing at that, in some really striking sequences!

2.  Difficult to believe, but true-this Modi uses the word Mitron only on one grand occasion and that is quite refreshing. Oberoi has done justice to the role and uses his high-pitched intensity to good effects.

3. Plus there's a costume drama to offer in the first half as the confused soul Modi switches role from being a Chaiwaala, to an actor (A die-hard Dev Anand Fan who likes to button it up to look preened and proper ) potential Sangh Pracharak and a monk. And these forms are taken up and dumped Before Modi zeroes in on his true calling in life--that to become a Karma-Yogi to serve for his countrymen!

4.  The only blot on his impeccable portfolio (Godhra riots), his political rivalry, his 'bromance' with Amit Shah and the corresponding journey in the political arena is showcased quite neatly with a dose of humour, some sparkling moments thrown in and by getting in the tear-jerkers at the right places.

5. Mind you, it's not just the heavy duty lines on patriotism or Viveks' wavering body language and diction that makes you giggle. The best laughs are drawn at the expense of the cartoon-ish portrayal of Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Manmohan Singh.

6. The film concludes with the mandatory 'The Nation Wants To Know' live interview where a hapless news anchor (Darshan Kumar) tries to extract answers from the horse's mouth to his advantage. This one is mounted to draw maximum taalis and whistles, for sure!

Omung Kumar is known for painting his story in broad strokes and the characters in his narration are slotted into the boxes--good and evil, alone, primarily. Well, in this one too Kumar sticks to the formula. All in all, PM Narendra Modi offers enough masala, entertainment and a genuine dose of deshbkhati with Manoj Joshi's Amit Shah, Kishori Shahane's Indira Gandhi and Boman Irani's Ratan Tata not exactly taking the term cinematic liberty to another.....dare we say planet!

Final Verdict: PM Narendra Modi has been not just for the ardent bhakts or Modi fans, but it has been moulded also for those who love their movies and entertaining with a dash of josh!
