Aamir Khan’s Perspective on Road Safety

Addressing the audience, Khan spoke about the importance of understanding that traffic laws are designed for the collective well-being of society. He highlighted that following these rules should not be viewed as a burden, but as a necessary step for everyone's protection.

When asked if he would help his children if they got into legal trouble after a road accident, Aamir said, “I am a firm believer that law has to follow its course,” Khan stated. “Whether it is me, my children, my family, or anyone else. The law that is made is for all of us, for our well-being. And it is important to understand it more than anyone else.” He further noted that even with the best intentions, errors can occur, saying, “Sometimes accidents also happen. After a person’s full effort, I follow all the rules, even after that, there can be a mistake. But I don’t misuse my position.”

Aamir Khan’s Strict Rule for His Children

The actor shared specific, strict mandates he has established for his children to ensure their safety and the safety of others on the road. Khan’s primary focus was on the absolute prohibition of impaired driving and the importance of removing oneself from dangerous situations.

“First of all, they should never do drunk driving," Khan revealed. "And if someone is driving a car who is drunk and has a friend, you should get down from the car.” By teaching his children to refuse to be passengers in a vehicle operated by an intoxicated driver, he underscored the need for proactive safety choices.

National Impact and the ‘Kartavya’ Initiative

The Sadak Suraksha Abhiyan 2026 comes at a critical time, as India continues to report over 1.8 lakh road-related deaths annually. Minister Gadkari pointed out that a significant majority of these victims fall within the 18 to 34 age bracket, making the engagement of youth-focused icons like Khan essential for the campaign's success. OTT Releases This Week: From Aamir Khan’s ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ to ‘Vadh 2′, ’Avatar: Fire and Ash’, ‘Happy Patel’ and Shows To Watch.

The initiative is built around the "Kartavya" (Duty) pillar, encouraging citizens to treat road safety as a moral obligation. By sharing his personal family protocols, Khan illustrated how individual households can contribute to the national goal of reducing accidents through discipline and respect for the law.
