When the news of sexual harassment allegations against Rajkumar Hirani first broke out, it sent shockwaves to people. Not just the public, Bollywood too was equally shocked. The woman who claimed to be Rajkumar Hirani is assistant producer accused of making sexual passes at home during the shoot of Sanju last year. at this time they were quite a few people from Bollywood who stood as strong pillars of support for Hirani and he also sent out the clarification calling all these reports and allegations as malicious. Now, at the press conference of Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga, Vidhu Vinod Chopra, who is great friends with Hirani and has also made a lot of movies with him together, was quizzed about the same. He said, "This question is as important as the reason why we have come here to talk about this film. This platform is for another subject. But when the time is right we will talk about it."

Considering it is a sensitive topic, he chose to dodge the question and not answer it. For the uninitiated, the woman had sent out a long email to Chopra and his wife and film critique, Anupama complaining about Hirani alleging he made sexual passes at her.

HuffPost India spoke to the woman and shared excerpts from the email. "I remember forming these words on my lips - 'Sir. This is wrong...Because of this power structure. You being the absolute power and me being a mere assistant, a nobody - I will never be able to express myself to you," the woman wrote of the April 9 incident in the email. "My mind, body and heart were grossly violated that night and for the next 6 months," the email said of the period that followed.

According to the report, the woman has alleged that the assault took place once the team started working on post- production of the film. Hirani, however, has denied all allegations. His lawyer Anand Desai has been quoted saying, “At the outset, our client states that the allegations made against him are false, mischievous, scandalous, motivated and defamatory,” Desai said in an email dated December 5, 2018 to HuffPost India.
