As per a report by, around 1996, when Alisha was at the top of her game with the success of her single Made in India, she accused Anu Malik of molesting her. She filed a case against him and demanded Rs 26.60 lakhs. While talking to Mumbai Mirror recently, Alisha Chinai recalled the ordeal. "When I sued (Anu) Malik, I fought it alone. It was an unprecedented landmark verdict and a restraining order was passed against him. The man has repeatedly begged for my forgiveness. I have chosen to forgive him and moved on,” the Kaja Re singer revealed.

“Every case and incident of sexual offence is very different, and only the one who wears the shoe knows where it hurts,” Alisha also said.

Alisha had vowed to never work with him again but the two, later, reconciled. She lent her voice to a song in the film Ishq Vishq, whose music director was Anu. The two even judged a season of Indian Idol together.
