Anabelle Comes Home takes place inside the house of the Warren family of the Conjuring movies, which explains the title. The movie features Warren's daughter stuck in her house with two baby sitters when Anabelle starts terrorising them. Check out the Anabelle Comes Home Movie Reviews below:
The Guardian wrote, "Dauberman, who also co-wrote the recent iteration of It, uses a similar strategy here in how he exploits scare tactics: throwing everything at the wall in the hope that some of it will stick. While that worked to some extent in It, even if the script still felt like a collection of scenes rather than an actual plot, Annabelle Comes Home is hopelessly light on scares."
The New York Times wrote, "Groaning predictability, though, is only one problem in a movie choking on haunted-house clichés and so short of genuine scares that its most traumatizing sight might be the Warrens’ hideous wallpaper. Shadows flit past mirrors and doors vibrate to the battering of invisible fists, weak teasers with disappointing payoffs."
IGN wrote, "Annabelle Comes Home is still spooky in all the ways fans of the series expect, but it also features a kind of levity — particularly when it comes to the ordeal of Bob (Michael Cimino),a kindhearted teenage neighbour who has a crush on Mary Ellen and is hoping to use this opportunity to ask her out — not typically found in its sinister siblings.”
Cinemablend noted, "A breath of fresh air for The Conjuring Universe that both surprises with a lighter touch and demonstrates the incredible potential for the expanding continuity."
Paste wrote, "Annabelle Comes Home remains a hoot from start to finish, in part thanks to the joys of variety and in part because it pulls a fast one by reintroducing Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga."
So, Anabelle Comes Home is getting reactions from both ends of the spectrum. No amount of criticism is going to stop horror fans from going to the theatres to watch the film. The movie has been directed by Gary Dauberman.
