The first Hindi trailer of Angry Birds Movie 2 hit the internet today. Sony Pictures India has hit the right chords by roping in Kapil Sharma and Kiku Sharda to voice the characters of Red and Leonard, respectively. The Hindi trailer sounds quite funny and that is a rarity for Hindi dubbed movies. Many punchlines, jokes and gags have been Indianises. "How the josh", finds a place in the trailer. Even Kapil's catchphrase, 'Babaji ka thullu' does. A meta-joke about Red being Kapil Sharma is quite smart, we'd say. Kiku's character, Leonard, has been given a Bhojpuri accent.

Both, Kapil and Kiku, have done a fine job with the voice dubbing. While it is easy to figure out Kiku's voice, Kapil's voice is tough to recognise. And that is a compliment. Angry Birds Movie 2 in Hindi also stars the voice of Archana Puran Singh as Zeta, but she doesn't make an appearance in the trailer. The artists behind translating the dialogues to Hindi from English have done a fine job. They have added a desi twist to the film without losing the essence of the Angry Birds-style comedy. In fact, some dialogues have been made funnier. "I think he is challenging us to a break-dance battle," has been translated to "Ladai chal rahi hai ya Super Dancer show," - which definitely tickled me.

Angry Birds Movie 2 will be releasing in India on August 23. Stay tuned to LatestLY for more updates.
