Continuing on the trend of how Marvel films are dominating at the box office, both worldwide and in India, Ant-Man and the Wasp is off to a good start at the box office. However, like the film itself, don't expect the box office collections of the movie to match that of Avengers: Infinity War. But seeing that the latest Marvel superhero film doesn't have the perennial favourites of Iron Man, Captain America, Thor and Spider-Man, the movie has a really good start.

In India, Ant-Man and The Wasp has collected Rs 5.05 crore at the box office in its opening day. Moreover, it has beaten the Bollywood competitor of the week, Diljit Dosanjh's Soorma, which had collected Rs 3.25 crore on the first day. Even when it comes to critical consensus, the Marvel superhero film has got more favourable reviews than the hockey player Sandeep Singh biopic.

Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly play the main leads in Ant-Man and The Wasp, that also stars Michael Douglas, Michelle Pfeiffer, Michael Pena, Walton Goggins, Laurence Fishburne and Hannah John-Kamen. Like the first film that came out in 2015, even the sequel is directed by Peyton Reed. Ant-Man and The Wasp is the third Disney-Marvel superhero film to release this year, after Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War.
