We had earlier reported about how Kedarnath is in huge trouble after the producers Prernaa Arora and Arjun N Kapoor of KriArj Entertainment had a fallout with director Abhishek Kapoor. After the producers have walked out, the movie is in a jeopardy with Abhishek Kapoor looking other studios to back the movie. Now there are speculations that there are chances that the movie could be shelved.

As per a report in DNA, it was Abhishek's lack of commitment in honouring schedules, leading to the movie going over budget, which lead to the fallout. A source in KriArj Entertainment told the newspaper,  "Abhishek wasn’t able to keep his end of the bargain on most counts. It was he who breached the agreement first. He was to finish a major chunk of the film at Kedarnath in October 2017. However, when the unit returned, we realised that this commitment was not fully met. There was a lot of wastage. "

Another report in Filmfare mentions that producers were also not happy with Abhishek's brash attitude. The report quotes another source saying, “Producers were not aware that he behaves so badly with people and he doesn’t respect people. He had done it in Shah Rukh Khan’s case also. Deciding a film's release date should be the producers call since they are the one's investing huge sums into the project. However, Abhishek interfered in that as well and went on to announce a release date on Twitter without consulting KriArj Entertainment who were against releasing the film on the same date as SRK’s Zero. There were also rumours of Abhishek Kapoor not allowing KriArj to sign Sara Ali Khan for another film they were in talks for and pressurized the studio to drop the film. Kedarnath has gone over budget because of Abhishek’s unreasonable demands.”

So where does it leave the movie? Apparently Sushant Singh Rajput, the main lead star, has his own tiff with the director and is now focussing his energies in Son Chiraiya, his dacoit movie with Bhumi Pednekar. However, Kedarnath's state of limbo is the most cruel to Sara Ali Khan, who was supposed to make her debut with the movie.

The DNA report mentions that her mother Amrita Singh had her own fight with Abhishek Kapoor, where she learnt of his decision to produced Kedarnath on his own. The source said, “When Gattu called Dingy (Amrita) to tell her about his decision to fly solo with Kedarnath and only getting a big studio on board for the release, Amrita completely lost her cool with him. A heated argument took place between the two.”

There are reports that as Kedarnath might not make it to the marquee this year, both Sara's parents, Amrita Singh and Saif Ali Khan, are trying to pitch her to play the lead in Ranveer Singh's Simmba and the sequel to Hindi Medium.
