Shah Rukh Khan's much anticipated film Zero released in December last year. The movie was a challenging role that Shah Rukh had dared to sign up for. Apparently, Aanand L Rai's original choice for this role was Salman Khan. According to reports, Salman was not too confident of playing a vertically challenged man as he was insecure about his height in real life. The Dabangg hero has dated some famous leggy lassies, uncomfortable with his personality seems a little difficult to believe, but then celebrities to have their own quirks. Anyhow, we bet that Salman must be relieved that he chose a cameo over the full-fledged role of Bauua Singh, especially now that the film has barely managed to mint Rs 100 crore at the box office.

On the other hand, another film that released in December, Simmba went on to become a blockbuster. Ranveer Singh and Rohit Shetty's debut collaboration on 70mm proved to be a massive hit. The movie has surpassed Rs 150 crore at the box office and is faring well in the international markets too. Simmba gave Rohit Shetty his eighth Rs 100 crore movie and Ranveer his fourth one.

Recent reports suggest that between Salman and Shah Rukh, this part also fell on Ranveer's lap. It seems that the Lootera hero was to begin filming for Rai's movie. As per Bollywood Hungama report, the film was to go on floors when SRK showed interest in the project. King Khan did not just want to act in the movie, but he was also willing to bankroll the movie. Apparently, Ranveer was ousted from the film and Shah Rukh came on board. It seems that even the cast got a massive makeover. But looks like Ranveer must now be thanking his stars considering how the audience has reacted to SRK-Rai's Zero.

Whether SRK indeed tried to oust Ranveer from the movie or not, only the two actors and the filmmaker will be able to reveal. However, we bet that in case there's truth to this news then Ranveer must have heaved a sigh of relief and it might make his victory doubly delicious.
