Sidharth Malhotra has to pull up his socks. His last release, Aiyaary, failed to get the recognition, from critics and audience. A lot is riding on his next step, which is the Vikram Batra biopic. And then on Jabariya Jodi with Parineeti Chopra. The next after this one could have been an Imtiaz Ali film, which sounds like just the right next step. But Sidharth has different plans. World Animal Day 2018: Sidharth Malhotra Talks About Acknowledging And Adopting Animals - Watch Video.

As per a report by DNA After Hrs, Sidharth and Imtiaz met to discuss a potential film. The movie would have starred Sid playing an army man once again after Aiyaary. It was a going to be a love story and the principal photography was supposed to begin in February. But Sid had to turn down the role. A source told the news daily, " “Imtiaz wanted Sidharth’s dates in February next year, but the latter had already committed the same to the Vikram Batra biopic. He told the Jab Harry Met Sejal director that he won’t be able to shift that film and politely turned down the offer.” Arjun Kapoor, Parineeti Chopra, Sidharth Malhotra’s Cute Banter on Twitter Will Crack You Up – Read Tweets.

Don't be all disappointed. The decision actually makes sense if you read the reason number 2. "The subject deals with an army-based romance. Sid has already played a man in uniform in Aiyaary earlier this year and will be stepping into the shoes of the Kargil martyr, Vikram Batra, next year. So, he thought this project will be too similar to what he’s already doing. Instead, he has signed a film with Nikkhil Advani’s banner, which will be helmed by Satyameva Jayate director, Milap Zaveri. It’s an action entertainer, which is scheduled to go on floors after he finishes the Batra biopic," the source added.

Three back-to-back movies where an actor plays an army man is a bit too much. We agree. Let us see with whom Imtiaz Ali will team up for the said film. BTW, for another film, he will be directing Kartik Aaryan.
