Mamangam is based on the rivalry between Chaaverukal and Zamorin rulers. This movie will highlight the end of a 280-year-old war, which happened between warriors who came from different parts of the country during the Mamankam fair and fought against each other to show their strengths. When the Malayalam teaser of Mamangam was released, it did highlight all these details. But fans wanted to see more of Mammootty’s role in it. Although he made a very brief appearance, fans were still impressed to see him in a totally new avatar. Mamangam is produced under the banner of Kavya Film Company.
