Actress Subashini Found Dead in Chennai Apartment

Subashini, who also went by the name Sasvibala, was found in her rented apartment in Iyyappanthangal, near Porur. While she primarily lived in Bengaluru with her husband, she had rented the Chennai flat to accommodate her filming schedule for the Sun TV series Kayal.

According to police statements, the actress had arrived in Chennai on March 3 for a shooting cycle. On the night of April 5, 2026, she was reportedly engaged in a video call with her husband, Bipin Chandran, when a heated argument broke out over family-related issues.

Tragic Incident During Video Call

Reports from the Times of India and Cinema Express suggest that the altercation escalated rapidly. During the video call, Subashini allegedly took the extreme step while her husband watched in horror.

Distraught, Bipin immediately contacted the apartment’s security personnel and local residents to check on her. Upon being alerted, the Porur police rushed to the scene and transported her to the Poonamallee Government Hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival. Her remains were later moved to the Government Kilpauk Medical College and Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
