Rocking Star Yash is not just headlining one of the most anticipated pan-India films right now, but is also deeply involved behind the scenes shaping its vision. With Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, the superstar has taken on multiple responsibilities as a writer, producer, and lead actor — a balancing act that, according to him, requires constantly shifting his mindset depending on the role he is stepping into during the filmmaking process.

In a recent interaction with Variety, Yash candidly opened up about navigating the creative and business sides of the film while also carrying the pressure of leading it as an actor. Explaining how he mentally separates each responsibility, the actor shared that writing demands complete creative freedom, while producing requires practicality, logistics, and accountability. Rocking Star Yash on the Vision Behind 'Toxic': 'To Create Global Model For Indian Cinema'.

He shared, “When you’re writing, you should not think like a producer when you’re writing on paper. But once it’s written, the next point is to think as a producer — what are the logistics, how much does this take, how much business sense does it make. Because by the end of the day, a lot of people depend on cinema, so many people work on it, their livelihood depends on this profession.”

The actor further explained that once he steps in front of the camera, his focus shifts entirely towards performance and storytelling. “And then when I come on screen, I only think about what the writer or director is trying to say through that scene. As an actor, I carry all the responsibilities because everybody gives their best work, but if the actor doesn’t anchor it properly, everything goes for waste,” he added. ‘Toxic’ Release POSTPONED: Yash’s Action Thriller To NOT Arrive on June 4, Makers Issue Statement.

Over the years, Yash has quietly built a reputation for being heavily involved in the creative process of several of his projects, often contributing extensively behind the scenes without formally taking credit for it. However, Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups marks the first time the actor has officially taken a hands-on writing credit, making the film one of his most creatively personal ventures yet.
