Makers of And TV’s Bitti Business Wali may soon land in hot soup for the issue of non-payment of dues. Despite the show ending in the month of September, the show’s actors have revealed that makers are yet to clear their dues, reports Bombay Times. The actors even approached CINTAA (Cine and TV Artiste’s Association) after repeated attempts on their part to contact the producers and the production house. However, after producer Raakesh Paswan stopped reverting even to CINTAA, the actors are now threatening to go to the police, read the report in the daily. #MeToo Impact: Alok Nath Expelled From CINTAA Over Rape Allegations!

Opening up on the matter to the daily, leading lady Prakruti Mishra revealed, “All of us have been trying to contact Raakesh Paswan and those associated with him in the production house, but we haven’t got any response. The last message that I got from them was in December. The actress also told the daily that even though the entire cast and crew (including technicians) had been only paid for one month, despite shooting for the show for seven months. “We received a mail from the production house in February assuring us that the dues will be cleared by April, which didn’t happen. The producer and his team have stopped answering our calls and text messages. We approached CINTAA a couple of months ago, but the production house hasn’t responded to them either. We will approach the police if they don’t clear our dues immediately,” stated the actress.

The producer Raakesh Paswan, on the other hand, has stated that despite suffering financial difficulties, he has promised his cast and crew their payments. “I am in touch with the cast and plan to release their payments as soon as possible. The show ended in just four months, due to which I suffered heavy losses. I am facing financial problems, as I don’t have a show on air. My conscience is clear, and I have promised everyone that their dues will be cleared soon. In fact, on two occasions, after my shows shut down, I had cleared everyone’s dues even though I hadn’t received payments from the channels.”

CINTAA chief Sushant Singh confirmed that the show’s actors had approached the association and ‘filed complaints that their dues have run into lakhs’. He also mentioned that CINTAA was going to serve the producer a legal notice and that they will ‘stage a protest outside their (producer) office if need be.
