Salman Khan hosted Bigg Boss 13 will premiere on September 29, 2019. Mahira who was a well-known personality, thanks to the TikTok app and has over 2 million followers on the platform, made her television debut with SAB TV's Y.A.R.O. Ka Tashan in 2016. However, she soon quit over dissatisfaction with how her role was progressing.

She then entered Ekta Kapoor's Naagin franchise and the chudail and was seen in Surbhi Jyoti and Pearl V Puri's Naagin 3. The role went on for quite some time and earned Mahira more recognition and soon after, the actress bagged a meaty role in Kundali Bhagya. Mahira, who also judged the show MTV Date To Remember was in the news for her growing closeness to her co-host Manu Punjabi. As per a report in Business of Cinema, Manu and Mahira had grown close during their stint on the MTV show and had also gone on multiple movie dates.
