Hyderabad, July 13: A government official in Andhra Pradesh unleashed his fury at a crowd that flocked to an 'Anna Canteen', the chain of government subsidised eatry in the state. Municipal Commissioner Raghurami Reddy lost his cool while trying to manage the crowd at a newly-opened 'Anna Canteen' in Kurnool district's Yemmiganur on Friday.

At the 'Anna Canteen', a stampede-like situation occured people in large numbers thronged during lunchtime. Raghurami Reddy tried to get people to form an orderly queue, but his efforts turned futile. Later, he resorted to slapping and shoved them out. The video of the incident was going viral on social media.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday inaugurated a canteen in Vijayawada to mark the launch of the chain of canteens in various parts of the state. The Akshaya Patra Foundation will run these canteens. At 'Anna Canteen', breakfast, lunch and dinner would be offered at Rs 5 each.
