Jaipur, July 3: In another shocking incident, a four-year-old girl was raped by her neighbour in Jaipur’s Kanota area on Monday night. According to a report published in Hindustan Times, the girl was brought to JK Lone Hospital in Jaipur early on Tuesday morning. She is under medical supervision. The accused is absconding after the incident.  He has been booked under sections of Prevention of Children against Sexual Offences (Pocso).

According to the report, the victim’s mother had gone out to relieve herself when a neighbour picked up the child from her house and raped her. After hearing baby’s cries she rushed to rescue her, but the man fled by that time.

The police have registered a case against the accused and launched a manhunt operation to arrest him. “She came around 3 am on Tuesday. Doctors from the surgery and obstetrics and gynaecology departments checked her. She does not need any surgery yet,” reported Hindustan Times quoting JK Lone hospital’s deputy medical superintendent Dr Archana. The girl’s father works as a daily-wage labourer.

This the third incident within a week where a minor under nine years of age is raped. The incident happened just a day after a four-year-old girl was raped in Madhya Pradesh’s Satna. Police had arrested the accused in that case and registered a case under section 376 of IPC and POCSO Act. On June 26 an eight-year-old girl was gang-raped by two men in Mandsaur.
