Lucknow, May 20: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar, charged for kidnapping and raping a teenager in Unnao, has now been booked by the Central Bureau of Investigation for conspiring to frame the victim's father in a false arms case.

A CBI spokesperson said the probing officials have collected incrementing evidence to book Sengar under the conspiracy charge. An agency official said Sengar was zeroed down based upon the call records of the tainted legislator and the police official posted at Makhi station, where the rape-victim's father was arrested in a "false arms acts case".

50-year-old Pappu Yadav, father of the Unnao girl who was allegedly confined to and raped by the BJP MLA and his accomplices, had died in police custody under mysterious circumstances.

The autopsy report revealed he had suffered fatal injuries, particularly in the abdomen region.

The CBI had earlier booked the MLA's brother Atul Singh Sengar, along with his 5 aides, for the murder of Yadav.

The CBI court on Saturday, after hearing the arguments posed by the agency's counsel against Sengar, remanded him to two-day police custody.

The Bangarmau MLA would be interrogated for the next two days in connection to his alleged involvement in the false arms act case registered against the deceased.

The CBI would also conduct a face-to-face interrogation, putting Sengar before the two police officials of Makhi station - station officer Ashok Singh Bhadauriya and SI Kamta Prasad Singh - who were allegedly hand-in-glove with him.
