The decision was announced by the district administration following directions from the District Magistrate to ensure student safety ahead of Shravan Shivratri, which will be observed on August 11, reported NDTV. The closure covers schools affiliated with the Basic Education Council, Secondary Education Council, CBSE, ICSE, other recognised boards and the Madrasa Board. Government and private colleges, universities and technical institutions have also been directed to remain closed during the same period, except where examinations have already been scheduled.
