New Delhi, January 22: The Supreme Court on Monday provisionally removed the age barrier for aspirants wanting to take the IIT JEE examination. Aspirants who are above the age of 25 years can now appear for the IIT JEE main and advanced examinations 2019. Those above 25 years of age can provisionally take the IIT JEE Exam 2019 till the final verdict on the plea on age barrier for the exam is pronounced by the Supreme Court. The court also directed the National Testing Agency to keep its portal open for a week more to enable candidates to apply for JEE Main 2019 and JEE Advanced 2019.
Earlier in November 2018 in a similar order, the apex court had allowed students who are 25 years of age or above to appear in NEET UG exam 2019, adding that “their admission will be subject to the final outcome of the case on validity of CBSE decision to fix upper age limit."
The JEE Main-II exams will be held this year between April 6 and April 20. The registration will begin from February 8. The last date to apply will be March 7. The results are scheduled to be declared on April 30, 2019.
