The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the timetable for Indian Foreign Service (IFS) recruitment main exam 2018. Those who have qualified the prelims exam can check the complete schedule available on the official website of UPSC; upsc.gov.in. According to the date sheet, the exam will begin from December 2, 2018, at various test centres across the state. The Detailed Application Forms (DAF) for the civil service exam will be made available for the candidates from October 4. UPSC IFS Mains 2018 will be conducted on different dates—2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 in both morning and afternoon sessions. The timings for the morning are 9:00 am to 12:00 pm, and for the afternoon, it is 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. The students will have to questions that will consist of Descriptive and Subjective type questions of 1400 marks. Eligible candidates who will fill in the DAF forms can only appear in the mains exam. General English and General Knowledge are compulsory subjects, and the candidates will have to choose between two optional subjects and appear for both Paper 1 and Paper 2 of the respective subject. UPSC ESE Recruitment 2019 Notification Released! UPSC conducts various examinations for the recruitment of different scale officer administrative posts in the central government. The commission had published the notification for IFS vacancies in February 2018. For the said post, the selection is based on three stages—Preliminary Exam, Mains and Personality Test. The prelim was conducted on June 3, and the results for the same was released in July. Those who qualify the UPSC IFS mains, will appear in the next stage of the recruitment process; Personality Test which carries 200 marks.
