The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is almost done with their evaluation process, and it is expected that the Prelims results will be out on July 15. All those who have participated in the exam must keep their admit card handy to check their rank card at UPSC’s official websites; upsc.gov.in, upsconline.nic.in. This year, candidates sat for the Prelims on June 3 for various vacancies under Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and other posts of civil services. Once UPSC releases results, the students will be able to check their marks, toppers list and cut-off list.

After qualifying in the UPSC Prelims 2018, aspirants will gear up with their preparations for Mains which is scheduled to be conducted on September 28 to 30 and October 6, 7, 2018 followed by interviews for the final selection of the available posts. In general, the commission declares the results within 40 to 45 days after the commencement of the examinations. Hence, the candidates are recommended to keep a tab on the official websites of UPSC as the result announcement date has not been confirmed officially yet.

Recently, the Department of Personnel Training (DoPT) has recommended that the task of assigning cadres after the 15 months of Foundation course shall not be implemented from this year. If the suggestion is approved, then the candidates will be allotted as per their rank in prelims, choice of work, candidate’s category, number of available vacancies under that category and findings of the medical board. The marks obtained in foundation course examinations out of total 400 will be counted only for deciding the rank of the probationer within the batch.
