Mumbai, January 8: A massive level-2 fire broke out on Monday at Mumbai Sessions Court premises, located in the southern part of the city. Eight tenders of the Mumbai Fire Brigade were rushed to the court complex in south Mumbai's fort area to douse the flames. Reports state that fire was successfully brought under control by 8.30 am. No casualties or injuries have been reported in the fire incident. Reports further inform that it is still not known what led to the massive fire.

According to the BMC Disaster Control, the fire was noticed on the third floor around 7 am. The incident comes a day after a blaze at the Cinevista Studio in Mumbai’s Kanjurmarg. In Kanjurmarg, the level-3 fire began on the sets of the TV serial Bepanah and was was brought under control only after two hours.

Earlier this week, an upper floor of a residential building in suburban Marol caught fire killing four people, including two children. Both these fires came a week after a major tragedy at Mumbai's Kamala Mills, where 14 people were killed . These fire incidents have raised serious questions over the fire-safety norms in Mumbai. As per reports, a deadly fire incident were reported in Saki Naka-Kurla area on December 18 where  twelve people were killed when a massive fire broke out at a snack shop in Saki Naka-Kurla area.
