According to the latest update by Western Railways, about 450 passengers have been rescued by a team of NDRF from 12928 Vadodara Express which is standing between Nallsopara & Virar amidst waterlogging. Reports inform that all passengers have been brought to Nallasopara station and buses are being arranged to transport them.

Western Railway arranges buses for passengers of long-distance trains. In a recent tweet, the WR said, "WR has arranged 6 buses for bringing psngrs of regulated UP trns from Surat to Borivali in view of suspension of rail traffic due to high water level on rly tracks at Nallasopara. Buses are also being arranged from Vapi, Billimora & Dahanu Road to bring psngrs to Mumbai".

Skymet Weather says Santacruz has surpassed its monthly average rainfall of July. "It has received 860 mm of rain against the normal of 840.7 mm. We expect moderate to heavy rains to continue for at least the next 24 hours," Skymet Weather says.

Mumbai, July 10: Heavy rains continued to lash Mumbai and its sorroundings for the fourth consecutive day on Tuesday, disrupting local train services and traffic due to waterlogging. Incessent rainfall has left several low-laying areas waterlogged, leading to slow traffic in those areas. Catch live updates on impact of heavy rains in Mumbai today.
Mumbai's lifeline, local trains were reportedly running late by few minutes due to waterlogged tracks at various points on the Central and Western networks. The disrupted local train services caused misery for millions of peak-hours commuters this morning. As per early morning reports, due to heavy rains, Up and Down main lines at Nalasopara are halted. However, local train on Western Suburbs are running late by 10 to 15 minutes between Virar to Vasai.
On Monday too, flood-like situation affected the railway services. Trains were running at ristricted speed as water reached 180 mm above rail level. The Western Railways cancelled 50 services and another 100-plus were delayed. However, there was no major breakdown in operations despite tracks being flooded at many places.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) yesterday said that rains will continue to lash Mumbai and neighbouring areas for next few days. The Met department also predicted that "heavy to very heavy rain" is likely to continue over Konkan and Goa.
So far, in the past 20 days, the city has received 54 percent of its average annual total rainfall, said the BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). More rains are forecast over the next two days starting today.
