The family of nine-year-old Amaira Meena, a student who died after falling from the Neerja Modi School building on November 1, 2025, has publicly challenged the police investigation into the tragedy. During a press conference at the Pink City Press Club, the grieving parents alleged that the chargesheet filed by the Jaipur police is incomplete and accused authorities of omitting key school officials despite evidence of institutional negligence.

Accompanied by members of the Sanyukt Abhibhavak Sangh, Amaira's parents, Vijay Meena and Shivani Meena, formally questioned why certain names were left out of the official investigation. According to a report by the Times of India, the family stated that the chargesheet omitted the names of school principal Indu Dubey and founder Saurabh Modi, asserting that both should be held accountable for lapses in child safety and oversight.

The family has demanded the immediate arrest of all individuals responsible for the environment leading up to the incident, pushing for a more transparent and comprehensive legal process. ‘Don’t Send Me to School’: 9-Year-Old Student Dies by Suicide Amid Bullying at Neerja Modi School, Jaipur; Call Recording Surfaces.

CCTV Footage Reveals Prior Complaints

The demands for accountability follow the release of CCTV camera footage from the school premises. In the video, the young student is seen making repeated attempts to complain to school staff regarding ongoing issues, including allegations of bullying. The footage also shows her classmates allegedly harassing despite the presence of a teacher.

The family has pointed to this footage as clear evidence that school authorities were given prior indicators of distress but failed to intervene or implement necessary protective measures.

Calls for Institutional Reform

The case has sparked a wider conversation regarding child safety, mental health protocols, and management accountability within private educational institutions in Rajasthan. Representatives from local parents' associations have joined the family to call for systemic overhauls.

Highlighting the need for broader structural changes, Sanyukt Abhibhavak Sangh president Arvind Agrawal addressed the press, stating, "This is not just one family's fight. Unless negligence by school managements is dealt with firmly, similar incidents may recur."

The parents' body is currently demanding the mandatory implementation of anti-bullying protocols, the appointment of qualified mental health counsellors, comprehensive CCTV surveillance across school properties, and much stricter enforcement of safety guidelines by regional education boards.
