Mumbai, November 2: The crucial meeting between Rashtriya Sawayamsewak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat and Bhartiya Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah is underway in Mumbai. Ram Mandir issue is likely to be discussed in the meeting. RSS has, again and again, reiterated its demand for legislation to enable the construction of the Ram Temple at the site of the demolished Babri Masjid in Ayodhya. The Hindutva outfit also claimed that the construction of the temple would reassure unity in the country.

The top court on Monday was to hear a batch of pleas challenging the Allahabad High Court's 2010 verdict by which the disputed land in Ayodhya was divided into three parts. A bench, headed by Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi and comprising Justices S K Kaul and K M Joseph postponed the hearing on the matter. The political atmosphere in the country has started heating up after the Supreme Court postponed the hearing on the issue till January next year. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday urged the public to hold patience on the ongoing Babri Masjid-Ram Mandir case and have trust on the Supreme Court. Meanwhile, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi challenged the Narendra Modi government to bring an ordinance to build Ram Temple at the disputed site. Former finance minister P Chidambaram also accused the central government of polarising voters before the elections.
