Srinagar, June 17: Martyred Jammu and Kashmir cop Arshad Khan was given a teary-eyed farewell on Monday. Wreath laying ceremony of the martyr was held at District Police Lines in Srinagar. In the heart-wrenching photos of the ceremony, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Srinagar Dr M Haseeb Mughal was seen carrying a son of the deceased officer in his arms. The SSP paid tribute to Khan with moist eyes. Anantnag Terror Attack: 5 CRPF Jawans Killed, 3 Others Injured.

The wreath laying ceremony was attended by Advisors to Governor, Army, Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) and Police officers and family members of the Martyr and colleagues. On Sunday, Khan, who was Station House Officer (SHO) of Anantnag, was airlifted to Delhi’s All India Institute of Medical Sciences for treatment. Later he succumbed to his injuries.

Apart from Khan, five Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel were martyred in the attack. Terrorists carried out a stand-off firing attack at K.P Road in Anantnag at about 4:50 pm. In the retaliatory action, the terrorist was gunned down on the spot. Two more security personnel were also injured in the attack. Meanwhile, former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Mehbooba Mufti on Wednesday strongly condemned the attack.
