‘Asked Student To Visit Home, Then Locked Door’: UP Teacher Suspended Over Unnatural S*xual Assault Attempt

A government primary school teacher in Uttar Pradesh has been suspended after being accused of attempting to s*xually assault a 14-year-old boy, a Basic Education Department official said on Friday. The accused, identified as Ghulam Mustafa alias Pappu, 50, was posted at the government primary school in Sisotar village.

Teacher Suspended, Inquiry Ordered

District Basic Shiksha Adhikari Manish Singh said the teacher was suspended on Thursday following the allegations against him. What Police Allege

According to police, Mustafa allegedly called the boy to his house on July 5 on the pretext of assigning him some work. Once the boy arrived, he allegedly locked the door and attempted to s*xually assault him.

Arrest And Custody

Police arrested the accused teacher on Monday, according to PTI. After completing the necessary legal formalities, he was produced before a court and remanded to judicial custody.

The matter remains under investigation as the disciplinary inquiry by the Basic Education Department proceeds alongside the ongoing criminal case.
