The accident took place in the Gaya Nagar area when the girl, identified as Abhidnya Madiwale, got off her school bus and attempted to cross the road. The speeding motorcycle allegedly struck her before she could safely reach the other side. The rider reportedly fled the scene without stopping.
Girl Undergoing Treatment
Following the accident, nearby residents and the school bus driver rushed to the child's aid and took her to a nearby private hospital. According to reports, she sustained serious injuries and is currently undergoing treatment. Police Launch Probe
After receiving information about the incident, Police Inspector Vaibhav Patil, head of the District Traffic Branch, along with Police Sub-Inspector Vijay Jadhar and other officials, reached the hospital and reviewed the situation.
Patil said school bus drivers and staff would be held responsible for ensuring that children travelling on school buses reach their homes safely after being dropped off.
Schools to Receive Safety Guidelines
According to officials, a written advisory will be issued to all schools in Beed district regarding student safety during pick-up and drop-off. Authorities also said strict action would be taken against institutions found violating safety norms.
Police have further announced that a meeting with school managements will be held to discuss additional traffic safety measures around school bus stops and drop-off locations.
The incident has triggered renewed debate over the need for stricter enforcement of road safety rules near schools, with many people on social media praying for the young girl's speedy recovery.
