Karnataka, December 15: In yet another incident of violence against women, a 33-year-old medical student was arrested by the Bengaluru city police for sexually harassing a 39-year-old woman and her 21-year-old daughter on Tuesday. The accused, identified as Vijay Bharadwaj is a Bihar native, now a resident of Jayanagar, Karnataka. The accused is studying a master's course in medicine in a private college in the city.

As per the report published by The Indian Express, the incident took place on December 11 when the woman, along with her son and daughter, were returning home from Hoskote, when the tyre of their car got punctured in Veerannapalya near Hebbal at around 2 am.  MP Shocker: Minor Girl Alleges Sexual Harassment by Father in Bhopal, Case Registered.

As the woman's 19-year-old son got to changing the tyre, the accused pulled over in his car and started harassing the mother-daughter duo. Reportedly, the accused even followed the family. Based on the complaint, police initiated a probe into the case and tracked down the accused using technical evidence and the car’s registration, and arrested him. The Bengaluru city police have booked the accused under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The accused was intoxicated at the time of the alleged incident, said the police.
