Social media creators in Bihar could now earn up to INR 1 lakh per video for producing content promoting government schemes, programmes and achievements under a revised state social media policy approved by the Samrat Chaudhary government. The amended policy allows empanelled creators to receive payments linked to the number of verified views their eligible content generates.

How Much Can Bihar Social Media Creators Earn?

Under the revised policy, creators can receive up to INR 10,000 for content that gets 1 lakh views. At the same rate, content reaching 10 lakh views can fetch up to INR 1 lakh.

However, the payment is capped at INR 1 lakh per piece of content, reports said. This means a video that crosses 10 lakh views will not qualify for a higher payment under this particular provision. Bihar IPS Reshuffle: 17 Top Cops Transferred Amid Controversy Over AK-47 Firing During Siwan Student Protest.

Bihar Government’s Big Offer To Social Media Creators

Who Can Get Paid For Social Media Content?

The payment will not be available automatically to every creator whose video goes viral. Individuals and registered companies will first have to be empanelled through Bihar's Information and Public Relations Department (IPRD). Bihar Student Protests: Govt Tells Supreme Court Constable Fired AK-47 in Air After Being Trapped by Protesters.

Creators will also have to comply with government requirements related to eligibility, platform, content quality and verification of views.

Content created without the required empanelment or departmental permission will not qualify for payment under the scheme.

What Type Of Content Will Qualify?

The revised policy is aimed at promoting information about the Bihar government's:

  • Welfare schemes
  • Development initiatives
  • Government programmes
  • Achievements
  • Public initiatives

The content must meet the conditions prescribed by the government before a creator can claim payment.

How Will Views Be Verified?

The government will determine the final payment after checking whether the content meets the prescribed conditions. This includes verification of views and compliance with the eligibility and content requirements.

Therefore, simply posting a video about a Bihar government scheme and reaching 1 lakh views does not guarantee an INR 10,000 payment.

How Can Creators Get Empanelled?

Individual social media creators and registered companies can apply for empanelment with the IPRD under Bihar's social media and online media policy. The state's official portal already provides a mechanism for submitting applications and completing the required registration formalities.

Creators interested in the scheme will need to complete the prescribed process before their content becomes eligible for payment.

Bihar Government's New Social Media Push

The policy amendment comes as governments increasingly use social media platforms to reach audiences directly. By linking payments to verified reach, Bihar aims to encourage empanelled digital creators to produce content that communicates information about government initiatives and achievements to a wider audience.
