A disturbing case of alleged superstition and black magic has surfaced in Maharashtra's Latur district, where police have booked 15 people for allegedly planning an “Aghori" ritual involving a 15-year-old girl in the belief that it would bring a “rain of money".

The case was registered by Udgir Rural Police after information emerged about preparations for the alleged ritual near Kardakhel Pati on the Latur-Udgir Road. Police intervened before the alleged ritual could be carried out. Black Magic for Bail? Man Performs Tantric Ritual With Chhattisgarh High Court Chief Justice’s Photo (Videos).

Black Magic in Maharashtra: ‘Aghori’ Ritual Planned In Latur

According to police, the accused had allegedly planned to perform the ritual in the name of “Lakshmi Puja", claiming it could lead to a supernatural shower of money. The alleged preparations reportedly involved a 15-year-old girl, making the case particularly serious.

Police said the accused had allegedly made preparations to force the minor to lie unclothed before people attending the ritual as part of the purported practice. The alleged act was planned to take place late at night. The ritual, however, did not take place after police intervened. IAF Officer's Wife Alleges Rape, Black Magic, Forced Conversion and Nikah; Viral Video Shows Accused Reciting Religious Verses.

15 Booked Under Black Magic, POCSO Laws

Following the intervention, Udgir Rural Police registered a case against 15 people. The accused have been booked under relevant provisions of the Maharashtra Prevention and Eradication of Human Sacrifice and other Inhuman, Evil and Aghori Practices and Black Magic Act.

Provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act have also been invoked in the case. The investigation is now focused on establishing the individual roles of those named in the case.

Police Probe Wider Role In Alleged Ritual

Udgir Rural Police have launched a detailed investigation into the circumstances surrounding the alleged plan. Investigators are examining whether additional people were involved in organising or facilitating the alleged ritual.

Police are also looking into whether those allegedly involved had conducted or promoted similar practices in the past. Investigators are working to determine how the alleged ritual was planned, who brought the participants together and the circumstances in which the minor girl was allegedly targeted.

The case has once again brought attention to the potential dangers of superstition when vulnerable people are targeted in the name of occult practices and promises of instant wealth.

Police are continuing their investigation and are expected to establish the full circumstances surrounding the alleged ritual and the roles of the 15 people booked in the case.
