New Delhi, November 14: A minor boy died while two other boys injured after a portion of the wall of a concrete tank made for Chhath pooja collapsed. The incident took place on Tuesday in Outer Delhi's Ranhola area. The incident took place around 2:30 pm when locals were preparing for Chhath Pooja. A three-and-a-half-year-old boy, Arva, was playing with his friends close to the tank, reported Hindustan Times. Kerala: Around 50 Police Injured as Auditorium Roof Collapses in Kannur.

The tank was specifically constructed by the residents for performing the Chaath rituals. Witnesses told police that suddenly one wall of tank collapsed on the children. The minor boys were buried under the debris. After the locals noticed it, they rushed to the spot and pulled them out. The minors were rushed to a local hospital where Arav who had sustained fatal injuries was declared dead while two others were admitted for treatment.

Police officials said that a case has been registered under section 288 for negligent conduct with respect to pulling down or repairing buildings and section 304A of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for causing death due to negligence. Police officials are also checking CCTV footage from the area to discover that if they were any foul play. Meanwhile, the body has been sent for a post-mortem examination.
