In a distressing crime bearing stark similarities to the recent Chitrakoot case, a group of men waylaid an engineer and his 26-year-old fiancée in Madhya Pradesh's Guna district, leading them into a roadside forest where the woman was allegedly gang-raped. The attackers subjected the victims to brutal torture, thrashing them with a wooden stick and robbing the couple before fleeing the scene.

How the Highway Trap Was Laid
Around 8 PM, the group flagged down the couple near a petrol pump on the highway, falsely claiming that their motorcycle had a flat tyre. The moment the engineer pulled over, the accused reportedly pounced on the pair, snatched the ignition keys, and forcibly dragged the duo into the nearby roadside forest.
Assault and Police Response
According to the survivor's complaint, the attackers subsequently called in accomplices. The group rained blows on the couple, struck them with sticks, and snatched their cellphones and two-wheeler. Hearing the couple's desperate cries for help, a passerby alerted the Dial 112 emergency helpline. In response to the gravity of the incident, local police have formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to trace and apprehend the perpetrators.
