The party said it has received reports of students and other protesters being detained or arrested in states including Assam, West Bengal and Bihar. CJP leaders have called on the Union government to honour the commitments made during negotiations and prevent any further action against those who participated in the protests.

CJP Alleges Action Against Protesters
CJP spokesperson Saurav Das said the party was concerned over reports of students and protesters being targeted by state agencies. “We are deeply concerned by multiple reports reaching us of students and other protestors being targeted, detained, or arrested by various state agencies, particularly in Assam, West Bengal, and Bihar," Saurav Das said.
According to the party, it agreed to suspend its nationwide protest only after receiving assurances from the Union government that no punitive action would be taken against protesters in BJP- or NDA-ruled states.
Calls on Centre to Honour Assurances
Calling on the Centre to fulfil those commitments, Das urged Union ministers JP Nadda and Jitendra Singh to intervene immediately. “We call upon the Government of India… to immediately honour the assurance given to us by ensuring the release of those detained and by directing that no coercive or retaliatory action is taken against any protestor anywhere in the country. The FIRs registered ought to be withdrawn too," he said.
The party also claimed that the government had committed to providing a written guarantee on the issue by Tuesday.
CJP said its legal team is working with lawyers in the concerned states to secure the release of those detained and provide legal assistance to protesters facing action. The party maintained that it would continue monitoring developments while pursuing legal remedies.
Warning of a possible escalation, Das said the government's credibility depended on honouring the assurances given during negotiations. “A breach of trust" would not only affect the CJP but also “lakhs of young Indians who chose dialogue over protests," he said.
The party demanded that all detainees be released and all FIRs withdrawn by Tuesday. It added that it would "take further necessary steps" if its demands were not met, though it did not elaborate on the nature of any future action.
