A parent has alleged that a cockroach was found in a serving of pasta at a popular children's play zone in Lower Parel, Mumbai, after their children had already eaten the food. The parent also claimed the seating area contained dead cockroaches and called for an investigation by civic and food safety authorities. The allegations have not been independently verified.

The claims were shared in a post on X, along with photos and videos that the parent said were taken at the venue. The parent, Shrimi Choudhary, tagged the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and Maharashtra FDA Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe, urging them to examine the alleged hygiene lapses.

In the post on X, Choudhary wrote: "A cockroach was found in the pasta served to us after our kids had already eaten it. This is completely unacceptable @pokiddojunior, (#LowerParel) this is a serious food safety and hygiene lapse. They are literally playing with kids’ health. This is one of Mumbai’s popular kids’ play zones, yet the entire seating area was littered with dead cockroaches. Attaching pictures & videos! Requesting @mybmc and @Tukaram_IndIAS @FDA_Maharashtra to investigate immediately and take strict action before another child is put at risk."

The parent also shared photographs and videos that they claimed showed the alleged conditions at the venue.

Authorities Yet to Respond

The post tagged the BMC, Maharashtra FDA and Tukaram Munde, requesting an immediate investigation and appropriate action over the alleged food safety and hygiene concerns.

As of now, there has been no public response from the play zone or the authorities regarding the allegations.
