Four People Seek Security
Ojha said on Sunday that protection has been sought for Satish Salian, witness Sameer Wankhede, lawyer Ashutosh Pathak and himself. According to Ojha, letters requesting security were sent to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the CBI, the Chief Justice of India and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Allegations of Threats
Ojha alleged that individuals associated with Shiv Sena (UBT) had issued threats to the legal team. He also questioned why security arrangements had been provided to some political figures while those pursuing the case had allegedly not received similar protection.

CBI Probe Into Disha Salian’s Death
Salian, who worked as a celebrity manager, died in June 2020 after falling from a building in Mumbai. The case remained the subject of public and political controversy, particularly following the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput days later.
The Bombay High Court recently directed the CBI to investigate the circumstances surrounding Salian’s death. The agency subsequently registered an FIR. The FIR itself does not establish guilt, and the investigation is ongoing.
Legal Dispute With Aaditya Thackeray
The latest security request comes amid a separate legal dispute between Satish Salian and Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray.
Earlier this month, Salian served a ₹500-crore defamation notice on Thackeray over statements concerning his pursuit of an investigation into his daughter’s death. Thackeray has rejected the allegations and said the case is being used for political purposes.
Salian’s lawyer has also said that material, including video recordings, witness accounts and other digital evidence, has been submitted or is being submitted to the CBI. The claims contained in that material will have to be examined as part of the agency’s investigation.
Investigation Remains Underway
The request for police protection adds another development to the ongoing legal and political dispute surrounding the case. The CBI investigation is expected to establish the circumstances of Disha Salian’s death and examine the allegations and evidence presented by different parties. No allegation against any individual should be treated as established until it is supported by evidence and determined through the legal process.
