Gandhinagar: Man Arrested for Raping 4-Year-Old Daughter After Wife Left Home Over Friend’s Molestation

According to local police, the incident occurred shortly after the man's wife left their marital home with their children following an argument, which erupted when her husband molested her visiting friend.
Police reported that the victim's mother had been hosting a friend at the couple's residence, India Today reported. The friend accused the man of making lewd advances towards her and molesting her when she was alone in the house. The allegations led to a severe confrontation between the couple, prompting the woman to leave for her parents' home alongside her four-year-old daughter and two-year-old son. Following her departure, the accused traveled to his in-laws' residence and insisted on taking one of the children back with him. Despite initial reluctance, the family eventually permitted the four-year-old girl to accompany her father.

The following morning, the girl's aunt noticed bleeding while bathing her and immediately alerted the family. The mother was informed, and the child was rushed to the Gandhinagar Civil Hospital, where a medical examination indicated sexual assault.
Following a formal complaint by the family, law enforcement authorities registered a case under the relevant provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Police arrested the 32-year-old accused within hours of receiving the report.
